We welcome all people and perspectives.

Compassionate Communities, a multi-generational healthcare movement, was created to rekindle cooperative responsibility for the health of our communities, advance health equity & inspire compassionate action. Our friendships provide a strong foundation and motivation for our work together. Our common ground, the health of our shared community, is a sturdy and neutral bridge across partisan and cultural divides.

Our movement is evolving organically.

We create opportunities for people in our community to come together to respond to complicated public health issues with compassion. Our hashtag, Root Down Reach Out, reflects our vision for a healthcare movement with the foundational strength and potential of an engaged, inclusive community.

Our Compassionate Connections Conversations are opportunities to strengthen relationships, enhance understanding and inspire hope. We create spaces for the diverse members of our community to voice their concerns and explore creative ways to address healthcare issues that impact their lives and the lives of their families, friends and neighbors.

Indeed, what unites the two of us in friendship and collaboration is not shared politics or the same religion.  It is something simpler: a shared belief in compassion, in human dignity, in the intrinsic usefulness of every person to contribute positively for a better and more meaningful world.
